Types of Premium Veneers
Natural Veneer
Real wood sliced at 0.5 mm in its authentic, untouched tones - every sheet carries the grain, figure and warmth nature gave it. The classic choice for premium residences and boardrooms.
Fumed Veneer
Veneers enriched through a controlled fuming process for deep, smoky, aged tones that ordinary staining cannot achieve - dramatic and sophisticated.
Dyed Veneer
Colour-infused real-wood veneers - greys, blacks, and designer shades that keep the natural grain visible while matching contemporary palettes.
Hybrid Veneer
Engineered combinations of natural and reconstituted wood for repeatable patterns with a natural soul - ideal when large surfaces must match perfectly.
Textured / Fluted Veneer (4.5–8 mm)
Fluted veneer - also known as textured veneer - with ribbed, tactile surfaces that catch light beautifully on feature walls and wardrobe shutters.
Solidwood Veneer (6–10 mm)
Thicker veneer construction with solid-wood depth - substantial feel, deeper polishing potential, built for statement surfaces.
Polished Veneer (7–12 mm)
Pre-polished, ready-to-install veneer panels - showroom finish straight to site, saving days of on-site polishing work.
Solid Veneer (6–12 mm)
The most substantial format in the range - solid, durable veneer boards for doors, panelling and high-use premium surfaces.
Premium Veneers — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between veneer and laminate?
Veneer is a thin slice of real natural wood, so every sheet has authentic grain, depth and character that can be polished like solid wood. Laminate is a printed decorative surface - extremely durable and uniform, but without natural variation. Veneer is preferred for premium, warm, natural-looking interiors.
What thicknesses do PROVO veneers come in?
Standard decorative veneers are precision-sliced at 0.5 mm. Beyond that we stock Textured (fluted) veneers in 4.5-8 mm, Solidwood veneers in 6-10 mm, Polished veneers in 7-12 mm and Solid veneers in 6-12 mm - one address for every veneer format.
How durable are natural veneers in Kolkata's humid climate?
Properly pressed and finished veneers perform excellently in humid conditions. A quality PU or melamine finish seals the surface against moisture, and bonded veneer-plywood boards add dimensional stability.
Can veneers be repolished later?
Yes. Because veneer is real wood, it can be lightly sanded and re-polished to refresh the surface years later - one of its biggest advantages over printed surfaces.
Where are veneers best used in a home?
Feature walls, wardrobe shutters, TV units, ceiling rafters, doors and premium furniture. Designers often pair a dramatic veneer feature wall with subtler laminates elsewhere for balance.
