Decorative Surfaces in Kolkata

Most surfaces in an interior are there to be quiet. These are not. PROVO’s decorative surfaces bring together four collections built for the wall that carries a room: 3D Wall Panels, seventy-one three-dimensional reliefs in geometric, coffered and organic patterns, supplied ready to paint or finish in whatever the scheme calls for; Velvet 3D, deep-toned textured coverings in a generous 8 × 4 sheet that catch and hold light differently through the day; and Velvet Verve, quilted, woven and pressed panels across six pattern families, made for wardrobe shutters, headboards and feature panelling where the surface should feel as considered as it looks. And Rangrez, PROVO’s Indian folk-art series, carries Pichwai, Kalamkari, Lippan and Mughal floral traditions onto decorative panelling — Vrindavana, Kamalam, Fulkari, Kutch Kala and Morchitra among the collections — for screens, headboards and feature walls meant to carry a story rather than only a texture. Designers reach for these when a reception front, a bedhead or a restaurant wall has to do the work of the whole scheme. All three are held at the Topsia experience centre, where you can see the depth of a relief and the way a texture reacts to light — which is the only way to choose one honestly.
